Trust Lust

Society demands unwavering clarity. Trust within its realm is not a virtue, but a profound vulnerability, precarious and unadvisable under any circumstance. Motives of others are never open, anchored instead in concealed depths designed to entangle the naive in a void of control. Every promise offered is merely a strand of sticky silk; every gesture of goodwill, a lure set over an abyss. Self-preservation relies on absolute self-reliance. Extending trust must be done with knowledge that it will be betrayed at first opportunity of chance to gain control. Safety is never found in seeking allies, but in operating with rock-steady skepticism.

Sensations of trust are just an illusion, nothing more than lustful, self-destructive amusement.
