Truckin' On

In the late 70s I got a job delivering powdered cement in bulk to well drilling sites around the western half of Oklahoma. It was hard work but nothing to linger at for very long at all.

It did have its pleasant aspects, though, allowing me to drive around different nice places.

Around broken mesa lands . . .

Over much smoother prairies . . .

Threading through granite foothills . . .

And across vast grasslands.

A summer job paying a decent wage, it was enough to fund a couple more years in college, but not worth sticking with through winter time in the western reaches of the Sooner State.

One decade later I went to work for the same company as a software engineer, a sweet job.
