I try not to be a binary thinking being. I try very hard. But it's not easy, and definitely not satisfying. Based on life experiences as a U.S. Citizen, I'm sorely tempted to express this way:

As a child, my fate was defined by prospect of being destroyed in a pointless war in Vietnam. As an adult the USFS tried to destroy me with a prescribed burn gone wild. FEMA heaps onto these feelings of being under attack by refusing to compensate for losses. Too binary.
A more considering representation does nothing to assuage distinct feelings of being targeted by the U.S. Government, and the end effect is the same no matter how the message is worded. Regardless, the recommendation at the bottom of both is sage advice.
