Sudden aspen decline affecting groves on this side of the mountains for about seven years now have shrunk opportunities for hiking beneath them during summertime quaking and autumn glow, especially the little grove along the south side of the creek. Still pretty, though.
But highland aspen can provide some nice chances for long walks through while leaves cling.
Time to take the half-day hike upslope for a slow stroll beneath this fall's aspen glow.
