Sandworm

Something I regret not doing while living in Iran was getting out into wilderness to explore. If I had, I might have been able to spot a Zarudny's Sandworm (Diplometopon zarudnyi) there.

And maybe a sandfish, too, as it whirled and swirled its way beneath loose sand to stay cool.

The most similar creature dwelling in the USA is the Florida Sand Skink which swims in sand.
