At times it feels like life is defined as much by threats avoided or overcome as it is by goals achieved and rewards reaped from accomplishments. Natural tendency is to reflect upon the latter more frequently than the former, but satisfaction is derived from retrospect into either.

Aside from childhood discovery of what is and isn't deadly dangerous to be avoided or dealt with, early adulthood posed greater threats driven by hormone-crazed females attempting to trap me in their twisted little snares to secure escape vectors from their parents, religious organizations vying for hard-earned income with concocted guarantees of soulful redemptions, and employers trying to force me into unsafe labor situations that cause injury or death. Later in life my own government's gross incompetence and criminal negligence posed its threats, first by burning my homestead to ash, then by balking at compensations. Each day now, pharmaceutical companies and doctors push their drugs and treatments hard.
As each season passes and I continue thriving and enjoying life in general, the bullets dodged become fodder for reflection on how badly things could have turned out if I had not been so aware of them all and nimble enough to successfully dodge them to breathe whew!
