My brother-in-law painted this. It's one of my favorites of his. Although they're easy to spot during rut season and I've even been chased up a cliffside by a sex-crazed elk bull, I've never come upon deer or elk during any of the short winter hikes I take around here after snowfall. Something about this painting of cold times at high altitude instills a sense of deep warmth.
