Unidentified Wildflower

Updated: May 28, 2019

Found this little beauty while cutting a standing dead pine for firewood yesterday.

ree

Found it at about 8700 ft elevation on the edge of the forest while felling a dead pine.

ree

Having trouble finding out what it is, but it doesn't really matter. Seeing is satisfying enough.

ree

Its blossoms are larger on vines at higher elevations (9000 ft or more).

ree

And they're opening wider up there too.

ree

Some even take on color.
