Wood gathering is in middle phase now as oak is gathered and piled in the center of the holz hausen for those long, frigid, mid-winter fires to burn far into the night. It's progressing as expected but is taking longer than usual due to excessively dry conditions in the forest.
It finally rained a decent amount on Independence Day and again yesterday evening, so I can pick up the pace again now to wrap up on schedule. By the end of August it should have a nice mound of pine capping it all off and ready for first snowfall.
