Here I am so far over the hill it's pathetic that I've never had a Monte Cristo Sandwich before in my entire life. Having been on a french toast and ham kick all week long for breakfast, it occurred to me that ham and cheese between slices of french toast might be pretty damn good. So this evening I made one, thinking "Whoa! I bet I've just invented a brilliant new meal here."
But as I sat down to snarf it down, I decided to search the world wide web for "french toast sandwich" which yielded more than eighty eight million results and there it was, The Monte Cristo Sandwich. A delightful discovery any time of life!
