Spotted the first bull thistle blossom today. An amazing, beautiful flower up close. Have seen only one sphinx moth so far, though, and that was after dark in the beam of my flashlight. Also saw a swallowtail butterfly while fixing lunch. Hopefully there will be many more of both.
Others are beginning to bloom and may be in full blossom tomorrow.
Found another beautiful blooming plant on the south bank of the stream.
Wild rose aren't as flashy as their garden varieties, but they beat them in aroma intensity.
Hasn't been as much monsoon rain here as expected, but the meadow is still pretty green.
Clouds still gathering every afternoon. So maybe there will be more rain soon.
