Chokecherries After All

Managed to find a good patch of chokecherries after all during a leisurely walk last week. I couldn't resist and ended up picking enough to make fifty jars. That's about half of what I usually have to can each year, but it's enough to last through winter, when I'm craving it most.

It's especially nice to spread some on homemade, skillet-toasted butter bread after or during a heavy snow, bringing back flavor of warm, green summer days. That, a good fire and a cup of coffee or tea makes any stormy winter day a delightful experience.
