Living in bayou country spoiled me on seafood dishes readily available there, like a good étouffée at Dupuy's Seafood & Steak in Abbeville, now in its 150th year of operation. My favorite is crawfish, but getting good Louisiana crawfish shipped out here is a pain. Shrimp étouffée is almost as good and an excellent meal during any blizzard, spring or otherwise. Add a piece of homemade garlic toast and it's gastronomic orgasm time.

The only way this could be better would be a dozen oysters on the1/2 shell freshly shucked at Dupuy's!

Or, a piece of homemade cherry pie fresh out of the oven today.
